Police have issued CCTV of a man smashing a glass display and stealing gold chains from a Redditch store

Detectives are investigating a robbery at a Redditch store where Asian gold jewellery worth more than £2,000 was snatched.

A man walked into the store and used a sock-covered object to smash a glass display cabinet and grab five chains.

The robber was also involved in a struggle with staff who tried to pin him down before he escaped and fled from the town’s Cash Converters shop on Unicorn Hill after the smash and grab raid on Saturday lunchtime.

The offender is described as an Asian-mixed race male, around 5 ft 10 ins tall and of medium build with a goatee-style beard. He was wearing a black hooded top with a white cord and black jogging bottoms.
