This is the 9th conference of the EU-funded project ‘Research Network on Organised Crime 2017–2019’.  The conference will be hosted as the Annual Conference 2017 of RUSI’s Strategic Hub for Organised Crime Research (SHOC). The event will bring together the Home Office, German Federal Police, Ministry of Justice in the Hague, Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention and Europol.

Couple uses child as accessory in theft of $57,000 ring at Estero jewelry store

Two adults who were seen on surveillance video using a young boy to help steal a $57,000 ring from an Estero jewelry store are being sought by local law enforcement. The two suspects, with the 5- or 6-year-old boy, entered the Saks Fifth Avenue store at Miromar Outlets just before 2 p.m. on Thursday.

A 87-year-old woman who has been infamously dubbed ‘international jewel thief’ escapes jail moments after pleading guilty for her latest heist. Diamond Payne has allegedly stolen jewelries worth Ksh 200 million in the past 60 years. She has been arrested and jailed several, but instead of changing her ways, her appetite for stolen goods has only grown.

An Apex ganglord stole $200,000 in jewellery and designer watches before blowing the proceeds on sex workers, cocaine and luxury hotel rooms. Gang kingpin Mahmoud Taha, 20, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the armed robbery of two jewellery stores just 90 minutes apart on July 7, 2016. Taha paid three teenage boys to carry out the raids, which they did armed with sledgehammers, the Herald Sun reported.

A gang who stole £7m from their own van in a brazen cash-in-transit raid dubbed “The Heathrow Heist” have been jailed for more than 20 years. The fake robbery involved security guards Mohammad Siddique, 32, and Ranjeev Singh, 40, and was one of the biggest heists in UK history. Singh, 40, made off with £7 million in six minutes by staging a robbery after picking up the money for Credit Suisse at Heathrow Terminal 4, on March 14.

Kölner Landgericht – Juwelenräuber zu langen Haftstrafen verurteilt

Köln – Der spektakuläre und teure Prozess gegen drei Juwelenräuber ist am Donnerstag zu Ende gegangen. Nach fünf Verhandlungstagen unter höchsten Sicherheitsvorkehrungen verurteilte das Kölner Landgericht die mutmaßlichen Mitglieder der international agierenden „Pink-Panther-Bande“ zu langen Haftstrafen.
Haupttäter Danila D. muss für zehn Jahre ins Gefängnis, sein Komplize Milan L. für acht Jahre. Der dritte im Bunde, der laut seiner Aussage lediglich als Fahrer „aushilfsweise eingesprungen“ war, muss drei Jahre und neun Monate verbüßen…….
