TOKYO, Japan – As a result of the worldwide circulation of an INTERPOL Purple Notice, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested two Chinese suspects on 20 August at Narita Airport for stealing just months earlier a diamond ring valued at USD 170,000.
Footage from a Tokyo jeweller’s security camera enabled the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) for Japan to publish a Purple Notice illustrating to the 190 INTERPOL member countries how the suspects entered the shop in January and pocketed the diamond ring while diverting the vendor’s attention……

The four thieves who made off with a considerable amount of gold and silver stolen from Tresor D’Or in Palm Street, Victoria on August 26 left Malta a day later, the police said.
They said they have requested an international arrest warrant for the thieves to be held and sent to Malta to face criminal proceedings…..

Four people appeared in court yesterday (Thursday) in connection with the Hatton Garden jewellery raid, in which an estimated £10m worth of jewellery was stolen.
Brenn Walters, also known as Ben Perkins, 43, Laura Perkins, 40, Terri Robinson, 35, and Steven Robinson, 46, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiracy to conceal, disguise, convert or transfer criminal property…..

The robbery, which took place at the Winsor Bishop jewellery store on London Street shortly after 10:50am, was caught on camera by passers-by, some of whom tried to tackle the robbers as they made their escape…..

Seven men including a Hatton Garden jeweller have been jailed for 64 years for their varying involvement in 10 smash and grab raids across London.
Reece Dunford, 31 of Osprey Road, Waltham Abbey, Essex, played a role in all the robberies at high-end shops in the West End. Sometimes he carried out the raids, other times he handled stolen goods. He was arrested after trying to organise his own smash-and-grab last year…..

The product, dubbed ‘Medusa’ was designed by Hilaire O’Shea, and assisted by co-founder of SaferGems and former CEO of the National Association of Goldsmiths (NAG), Michael Hoare. The solution fills cabinet displays with a rapidly expanding foam that encloses jewellery in a high-density material in the event that a break in occurs……
