CCTV: Raider smashes display case before snatching £2,000 of jewellery
Police have issued CCTV of a man smashing a glass display and stealing gold chains from a Redditch store
Detectives are investigating a robbery at a Redditch store where Asian gold jewellery worth more than £2,000 was snatched.
A man walked into the store and used a sock-covered object to smash a glass display cabinet and grab five chains.
The robber was also involved in a struggle with staff who tried to pin him down before he escaped and fled from the town’s Cash Converters shop on Unicorn Hill after the smash and grab raid on Saturday lunchtime.
The offender is described as an Asian-mixed race male, around 5 ft 10 ins tall and of medium build with a goatee-style beard. He was wearing a black hooded top with a white cord and black jogging bottoms.

Two arrested following attempted robbery at Taunton jewellery store
TWO men have been arrested following an attempted robbery at a jewellery shop in central Taunton on Saturday afternoon.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson confirmed that a 49 year-old man from Luton in Bedfordshire, and a 52 year-old man from Oxfordshire, were currently being questioned in custody.
Police were alerted to an incident at the Showerings jewellery shop in St James St, Taunton at 2.15pm on Saturday March 1, in which a 72 year-old man was injured.

Detectives investigate H Samuel jewellery raid
Police officers are investigating after a burglary was reported at a jewellery shop in Folkestone on Wednesday morning (5 March).
The break-in at H. Samuel Ltd in Sandgate Road was reported at 5am and it appears that thieves got into the building at the rear of the premises and stole jewellery.
The amount taken is not yet known. CCTV is currently being viewed as a forensic team looks for clues.
